Products with a leaf are organic

Blood, Fish & Bone

BFB is a balanced fertiliser. Blood encourages & Bone green growth. Bonemeal encourages the roots and fish encourages fruiting and flowering. Add a handful of grow organic fertiliser and use when planting out.

Bonemeal

Bonemeal encourages root growth and is a longer lasting fertiliser. Use it when planting fruit bushes, shrubs etc. It can be used to top dress roses. (This is the same as Superphosphate,                   which is non-organic)

Calcified seaweed

Calcified seaweed is good for improving soil, it gives trace elements and good bacteria. It can be used instead of lime. Use before planting potatoes. It is also a very good compost accelerator. Sprinkle on to rot down compost heap.

Chicken pellets

Chicken pellets are a good fertiliser. Throw them on your allotment during the summer as a booster, especially if it is raining. Dilute in water for a speedy feed.

Growmore

Growmore is a chemical balanced fertiliser. It is similar to blood, fish & bone.

Garotta

Garotta is a chemical compost accelerator. Sprinkle on to rot down compost heap.

Rose Fertliser

A chemical balanced fertiliser for flowers

Sulphate of Amonia

This is a chemical for ‘greening up’ any plants, including grass. Water it on. It can be used as a compost accelerator, but it may encourage clubroot in cabbages.

Hoof and horn

Hoof and horn is high in nitrogen. It is very good when planting fruit bushes and trees. Mix it with bone meal and seaweed meal to make a long lasting fertiliser when planting fruit.

Lime

Lime ‘sweetens’ (balances) the soil. For potatoes, lime the soil the year before planting and put brassicas first.

Don’t mix lime and manure, they cancel each other out.

Maxicrop

Maxicrop is a seaweed liquid feed for strengthening any plants. It is especially good for plants in shock and for transplanting onions and beetroot. For ‘seaside’ plants use maxi crop. Use maxi crop on your onions up to mid-summer, then use liquid comfrey to ripen and prolong shelf life.

Seaweed meal

Seaweed meal is a very good booster, especially for fruit. It is expensive, so use sparingly.

Sulphate of potash

Sulphate of potash is a chemical mix that ripens things (fruit/flowers). Use it as a fertiliser and fork it in. Liquid Comfrey is the organic choice.

Super-Phosphate

This is good for roots when planting, especially fruit bushes.
